Creative Workshops
In studio based workshops Robert encourages a more experimental approach to painting and drawing with a variety of chosen media. The learning experience for participants is always an exciting one with a loose and contemporary style being encouraged. Experimentation is the key to success and as such students are given the confidence to ‘let go’ and enjoy the day for a creatively engaging learning experience.
With regular demonstrations, group and one to one tuition throughout each workshop students will gain a greater insight into studio working practices to get the best from their photographs, sketches and support material so students personal goals and creative ideas are achieved.
"Workshops, talks and presentations are an ongoing part of my professional creative activities and now and then I will organise my own. Workshops are very popular too with many art clubs and art societies with many having repeat bookings!"
If you wish to discuss a workshop for your particular group and have a particular subject in mind, please do get in touch.

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced in skill level, regular one to one tuition throughout the day will teach you lots of new and exciting techniques for landscape painting and pastels.

18 and 19 SEPTEMBER 2027 - Norfolk estuaries, creaks and tidelines with soft pastel at Norfolk Creative Arts
—
Norfolk creative Arts
Norfolk estuaries, creaks and tidal areas with soft pastel and mixed media at Norfolk Creative Arts for 2027
An exciting two day pastel short art course awaits at Norfolk Creative Arts on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 September 2027!
The theme is ‘estuaries, creeks, and tidelines’ and will encompass an expressive use of soft and hard pastel techniques each day with graphite and charcoal to capture the beauty of this beautiful part of the British coast in new and exciting ways.
The emphasis will be 'pushing pastel' into new and exciting areas by combining the media on different surfaces with other media to create really expressive paintings over the full weekend.
We wont be just focusing on 2 major paintings (one per day as before) but several at the same time and at different sizes of textures and weights of watercolour paper focusing on expressive marks, resists, flowing paint, drawn and layered marks...and so much more!
The media is limited to soft pastel, hard pastel, charcoal and water soluble graphite sticks so you dont have to bring lots of art equipment with you and also to show what a limited range can do to create amazing paintings full of expression.
I will teach you how to develop depth, create atmospheric pastel and mixed media paintings with real impact as we work with the different media in combination extending the boundaries of what is possible with all of them each day on this creative painting (and drawing) weekend.
Exclusive 'once a year' event in North Norfolk. Not to be missed. Bookings now being taken!
